Francesc Giró

Environmental conservation, sustainable tourism and ecotourism, landscape, restoration and planning. Master in Nature Conservation.

Francesc Giró has more than 30 years of experience in biodiversity conservation. He has extensive field experience having led and implemented conservation projects, impact studies, landscaping, river and wetland design and restoration, environmental conditioning and restoration, and as consultant of various environmental and tourism issues for a wide range of international organizations in Peru, Spain, Bolivia, Ecuador, Haiti and Dominican Republic.

Francesc has been an advisor, lecturer and organizer of global congresses of the World Tourism Organization. In 1997, he founded Natura Foundation, of which he has been director since, having worked in Spain, Peru, Equatorial Guinea, Mexico, Nicaragua and Honduras. As director of Natura Foundation, he has led training projects, technical assistances, organized seminars for European experts in ecotourism, conservation and sustainable development projects, and ecotourism development. 
 
Francesc has a degree in Biological Sciences and a master in Science in Nature Conservation. He has also several publications and presentations in workshops and congresses, and has been a lecturer and speaker for the general public, and undergraduate and graduate students. ​
